This course is designed to refresh your knowledge and practice in antenatal care in the prehospital setting. It is run by our paramedicine team in conjunction with the industry.
There are 4 online modules in the form of multimedia presentations covering physiology and assessment and normal delivery, antenatal complications, complex delivery, and neonatal resuscitation and care.
As well as the multimedia presentations, additional content will also be provided in the form of articles, reviews, studies and multimedia videos to enhance your learning and improve your practice.
The online short course culminates in four compulsory formative MCQ assessments, at the end of each module.
The course should take approximately 16 hours of online learning; however, you have 6 months to complete the online learning. You'll need to enrol to gain access to the online learning.
This short course is primarily aimed at the prehospital emergency services: intensive care paramedics, paramedics and EMTs who have completed a Bachelor of Health Science in Paramedicine or those that have an Authority to Practice (ATP) wishing to remain current with their clinical practice.
It has been designed with working health professionals in mind. The pre-learning through the AUT online Canvas platform is designed to be a self-paced programme that you can progress through at your own speed, place and time. There are no onsite based classroom requirements.
This course is open to domestic and international students.

If you haven’t paid your fees within two weeks and 10 days before your course starts, your enrolment will be cancelled. If your employer is paying your fees, please provide a purchase order, with your employer's contact and billing details before the course starts. AUT reserves the right to cancel courses that don’t have enough students. If this happens, you’ll be given at least 2 or 3 days’ notice and can transfer to another start date for this course.
