Master of Analytics projects: industry partner information

Partner with AUT Master of Analytics students on industry-based projects and you have access to fresh ideas and additional resources.

Project details

  • Master of Analytics students complete an industry-based project in their final semester
  • 600 hours of work per student
  • Full-time students work on-site at an organisation for 15 weeks (one semester)
  • Part-time students work on or off-site for approximately 30 weeks (two semesters)
  • Individual and team projects available

Key responsibilities of project sponsors

  • Submit an initial project proposal
  • Meet with the AUT student(s) and supervisor in the week before semester starts
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for students prior to the start of semester
  • Be available to meet with student in week 1 of semester
  • Provide a space on-site at the sponsor organisation for the student(s) to work for the duration of the project
  • Ensure that data (if required) is available in week 1 of the project
  • Nominate a key contact at the organisation who can provide day-to-day support to the student(s)

Submitting a project proposal

Key dates - Semester 1, 2025

  • Sponsors proposals due: 31 January 2025
  • Project allocations confirmed: 20 February 2025
  • Pre-project meetings with student, sponsor and AUT supervisor: 24-28 February 2025
  • Non-disclosure agreements signed by: 28 February 2025
  • Project begins: 3 March 2025
  • Project ends (full-time students): 20 June 2025
  • Project ends (part-time students): 7 November 2025

Key dates - Semester 2, 2025

  • Sponsors proposals due: 18 June 2025
  • Project allocations confirmed: 10 July 2025
  • Pre-project meetings with student, sponsor and AUT supervisor: 14-18 July 2025
  • Non-disclosure agreements signed by: 18 July 2025
  • Project starts: 21 July 2025
  • Project ends (full-time students): 7 November 2025
  • Project ends (part-time students): June 2026
