Degree builder: build your degree with our online tool

Some of AUT’s bachelor’s degrees offer extra flexibility so your degree can be as unique as you are – you can include subjects from across AUT and study a few different topics you’re interested in; all in one three-year degree.

This is different from conjoints or double degree – our flexi degrees take less time and you can choose from even more subjects to include in your studies.

If you’re considering one of the AUT programmes below, you can see what your three years of study could look like by using our online degree builder for your chosen programme.

Esther Sarah Fanene

Bachelor of Business
“Being able to customise my course selection has been a huge plus. AUT offers a wide range of subjects and courses you can include in your degree. I chose marketing as my major and event management as my minor, as I wanted a career in digital marketing, or marketing for music festivals or the art industries.”
Laura Jade Watkinson

Bachelor of Arts
“Studying both psychology and human resource management means that I can pursue the areas I’m primarily interested in. Figuring I would combine both in a professional manner, human resource management and psychology seemed like the right move to make. I believe that my chosen degree will be a great way to help people.”

Bachelor of Computer and Information Sciences
“I chose to include marketing in my computing degree due to its broad application in every industry. An understanding of markets is a vital skill to have in any industry you’re in, and I recognised that even in a networks or cybersecurity position it would benefit me.”

Bachelor of Arts
“I’m passionate about both health and education but was unsure what I wanted to do at the time. By studying a Bachelor of Arts in Education with a minor in Health Promotion I could further my understanding of the deeper values of education and health, and how these contribute to society.”

Bachelor of Communication Studies
“Communications is such a broad area of study and is relevant to the current global demands. You don’t feel constricted to study something you won’t enjoy – there are so many options. I chose digital communication and marketing as my two minors. They’ve proved to be good extensions to my advertising major.”

Bachelor of Design Te Tohu Paetahi mō te Hoahoa
“I’m grateful that I can study both interaction design and software development as part of my degree. My learnings from one major help me with my learnings in the other major. For example, I know to be realistic in my design ideas because you can only achieve as much as the code allows.”
Sarah Miller

Bachelor of International Hospitality Management
“Hospitality management and marketing are two sectors I’m passionate about. I believe the two subjects can be interrelated, providing so many options for my future career. I’ve been able to incorporate marketing aspects into my hospitality management courses, reaping maximum benefits from both subjects.”

Bachelor of Business
“I liked that I could pick from a wide variety of majors and minors to include in my degree. I was interested in working overseas at some point, and after watching Money Heist, a Spanish Netflix series, during the first COVID-19 lockdown, I became interested in learning the language and minored in Spanish.”

Can’t see your chosen degree on this page?

Not all of our bachelor’s degrees offer this flexibility, so there may not be a degree builder for your programme.

This could be because your programme:

  • Needs to meet specific industry requirements for your future career (like in health, engineering, teaching or law)
  • Is changing to a more flexible structure in the future
