While you're studying at AUT, you'll have access to a range of websites and software you can use to get study help and tips.

ePortfolio sites​

Mahara is an electronic portfolio, weblog, resume builder and social networking system. It allows you to:

  • Create a portfolio of your work (some lecturers will ask you to do this or you can set one up yourself)
  • Connect with other students and create online communities

Video lessons with LinkedIn Learning

LinkedIn Learning allows you to access videos on skills and software. You can explore at your own pace and learn more about a wide range of things, including how to:

If you log in as an AUT student, you'll be able to access everything for free. All you need is a device that can connect to the internet (like a laptop, tablet, smartphone).

How to log into LinkedIn Learning

  1. Open a web browser
  2. Type www.linkedin.com/learning into the address bar
  3. Select 'Sign in'
  4. Enter your student email address
  5. Select 'Sign in with Single Sign-On'
  6. On the next screen, enter your AUT log in details
  7. You may also be asked to log into LinkedIn. If you don't have a LinkedIn account, this is free to set up

Flashcards are helpful for studying because you can use them to test yourself. You can make your own flashcards or use other people's on the following website:

​Note-taking apps and reference management software for study

OneNote

OneNote manages your notes and is available to AUT students through Office 365. It's particularly useful for annotating slides on a tablet with a stylus pen.

EndNote is a software that can help you store, manage and organise your references. As an AUT student, you can download it and use it free of charge.​
