Orientation for new students
Orientation is a great way to kickstart your university journey. At the start of each semester, we welcome new students to AUT through our Orientation programme. It's our way of bringing you into the AUT community and making sure you have the best start to your university journey.
Whether you’re joining us straight from school, after a study break or retraining in something new, the AUT Orientation programme will help set you up for success at uni.
Late Orientation
Missed Orientation? Don’t worry – we’ve got you sorted! Drop into any of the sessions below, and we'll get you up to speed with all the information you need to get started at AUT. You don’t need to register, just drop in.
- Wednesday 12 March – 1pm to 3pm, North Campus (AL120)
- Thursday 13 March – 10am to 12pm, City Campus (WH415)
- Friday 14 March – 10am to 12pm, South Campus (MC216)
We'll cover IT basics, introduce you to our student communities and AUT support staff, and you’ll also get a chance to meet other new students.

AUT student ambassadors
AUT student ambassadors are current students who volunteer their time to welcome and support new students. You'll meet them during Orientation Week so be prepared to make a friend and bring along any questions about AUT student life and support services.
AUTSA
AUT’s student association, AUTSA, advocates and represents the interests of all students at AUT. AUTSA is a proud supporter of the AUT Orientation, and you can connect with them on campus. As an AUT student, you’re automatically a part of AUTSA and have access to all the services and resources they offer.
