Trinity College Dublin is Ireland’s oldest and highest ranked university. Created by royal charter in 1592, it is one of the seven ancient universities of Great Britain and Ireland, and currently around 20,000 students call Trinity home.

Trinity has educated some of the world’s finest, most original minds including the writers Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker and Samuel Beckett (Nobel laureate), the scientists William Rowan Hamilton and Ernest Walton (Nobel laureate), the political thinker Edmund Burke, and the former President of Ireland and UNHCR Mary Robinson.

Located in a beautiful campus in the heart of Dublin’s city centre, it is known for it’s vibrant student life steeped in history.

Credit equivalence

7.5 ECTS = 15 AUT points

Full semester workload = 30 ECTS = 60 AUT points

Modules at Trinity will usually have 5, 10 or 15 ECTS value, so students need to ensure they have checked this carefully to make up a total of 30 ECTS for the semester.

Our agreement with Trinity is ‘university-wide’ so if you have electives as part of your AUT degree and would like to choose something outside of your degree programme with approval from your course leader, you can do so provided you meet Trinity’s requirements.
