Graduation dates are generally published six months before the event. You’ll receive an official AUT correspondence with your specific ceremony details (day and time) closer to the event. We recommend that you wait to receive this information before you make travel arrangements.
The 2025 graduation dates will be announced here soon.
To help in your planning for graduation, please note that ceremonies are generally 1½ to 2 hours long, but you should allow up to 3 hours overall from when you arrive to the end of your ceremony.
AUT has two graduation ceremonies each year. Our winter ceremony is normally late July or early August, and our summer event is held around mid-December.
Find out what to expect at your graduation ceremony – including when to arrive and register, how long ceremonies are, and what happens during your graduation ceremony.
If we’ve emailed you to tell you’re eligible to graduate at the next AUT graduation, don’t forget to apply to graduate and let us know if you’re planning to attend your graduation ceremony. Applying to graduate in My AUT is easy – just follow the step-by-step instructions.
Make sure you wear the correct academic dress – check what you should wear at graduation and where to get it.
