Our students-only Te Āhuru Recreation Centre in WQ building on the AUT City Campus offers spaces where you can do more than study – you can use it to connect with friends and cultivate your interests. The rec centre has a sports court, dance and exercise studios, flexible spaces for clubs to meet, and large spaces to gather and share food.
We're located at 39 Wakefield Street on the AUT City Campus.
Open hours for Te Āhuru Recreation Centre:
Friday 13 December: 8am-4pm
Saturday 14 December: 9am-2pm
Sunday 15 December: 9am-1pm
Monday 16 December-Tuesday 7 January: Closed
Wednesday 8 January-Friday 17 January: 8am-5pm (closed weekends)
Regular hours resume Monday 20 January 2025.
To access our facilities and bookable spaces, you will need a white swipe card or the Gallagher app (for student accommodation residents) to scan in and enter. Show your student ID at the AUT security office on any campus to request a swipe card or visit us at reception for more information. Access is free and available to AUT students only.

Examples of activities include: pick-up sports like basketball, volleyball, futsal and badminton; salsa dance class, meditation class, board games club, Ocha no jikan club and X-Box gaming.
