AUT shuttle buses run between the City Campus and South Campus for AUT students, staff and visitors travelling with you. The shuttles have ramps for wheelchair users and free wifi. You may be asked to show your student ID to the driver.
Find shuttle timetables, stop locations and ride costs on this page.
The timetable shows shuttle times during semester and semester breaks.
The easiest way to pay for your shuttle ride is to use the AUT App. Top up your AUT Wallet balance before you ride, as you can't pay the driver in cash.
If you don't have a smartphone and can't use the app, you can use your student ID card – check the 'How to top up your AUT Wallet' section below.
Fares for the AUT shuttle service in 2024 are:
You can top up your AUT Wallet in the AUT App or on My AUT using a credit card. You can also top up your wallet by EFTPOS at a kiosk in Tech Central. Credit will show in the AUT App, which you will use to scan a QR code when entering the shuttle bus.
AUT Wallet and how to pay for shuttle rides
If you don't have a smartphone, you can use your student ID to pay for your ride on the AUT shuttle bus.
You must first register your student ID barcode against the AUT Wallet. To do this email transport@aut.ac.nz with your student barcode and ID card.
You can take the NX2 bus (run by Auckland Transport) which runs every 10 minutes during the day. You'll need an AT Hop card.
Your student ID card gives you access to everything from shuttle buses to the library, computer facilities and student discounts.
