Find out more about writing events for postgraduate research students at AUT, including writers' retreats, our Shut Up and Write! Group, and writing workshops.
These 2½-day residential retreats take place at Vaughan Park, Long Bay*. A limited number of places is available for each retreat by competitive application. These events provide an opportunity for research students to have dedicated writing time, free of distractions, in order to focus on thesis writing, with experienced academics and writing experts on-site.
*If you have allergies, please be aware that there is a resident cat that lives on-site at Vaughan Park.
The next Writers’ Retreat is as follows:
Whether you’re a postgraduate student writing your thesis, or a staff member writing your journal article/book chapter, this group is for you. These sessions are a chance to dedicate some focused time to working on your writing (literally shut up and write) and hold yourself accountable for your work. You can work on anything writing related, so long as you work!
AUT offers a variety of workshops for postgraduate research students, including workshops to help improve your academic writing.
