Finding the right accommodation
Studio style living in Te Āhuru Mayoral Drive Student Accommodation. *

Finding the right accommodation is an important part of settling your child into university. AUT has a range of accommodation options available for students from shared apartments to single-person studios. Living in AUT accommodation is a great option for first-year students and for students moving to Auckland, as it provides the perfect opportunity to meet new friends and be near support services.

Our accommodation is conveniently situated close to study locations, so students don’t have to travel far from their new home to get to their classes, and to use AUT facilities and services. Most importantly, security and pastoral care are available 24/7 meaning your child’s safety and support is taken care of.

Each apartment at the Wellesley Student Apartments (City Campus) is fully furnished and has four or five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a shared lounge/dining area and a kitchen.

There is a possibility that your child and their friend can also be granted accommodation in the same place (if their friend’s name is provided on the accommodation application). This isn’t guaranteed, but the accommodation team will try to match people up so they can have a familiar buddy nearby as they begin their new lives as tertiary students.

To be eligible for university accommodation applicants must be enrolled (or intending to enrol) to study at AUT and international students need to be over the age of 18. Note that our Te Āhuru Mayoral Drive accommodation accepts any tertiary students (not just those from AUT). Accommodation applications can be made online.
