AUT Science project Living Labs, is researching the best ways to reintroduce native forest to marginal land across New Zealand.
It sits under the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDGs) 15: Life on Land.
The SDGs adopted by all UN members in 2015, are an urgent call for action by all countries; recognising that ending poverty and other deprivations needs strategies to improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – while tracking climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.
AUT is committed to the SDGs through academic research and by introducing sustainable practices.
