Multiple wins for AUT Media

Editorial  director Vincent Heeringa says the accolades reflect significant investment in  “good people and good ideas”.

“We’ve  worked hard on our titles, we’re very proud of their success and we really  appreciate the recognition from our peers in the magazine industry.”

Heeringa  says art director Adrian Clapperton is the toast of his industry today after  winning the Supreme Designer of the Year and Cover of the Year for his work on Idealog.

“We  make magazines that people want to read, and a big part of that is their  top-notch design and illustration,” he says. “Adrian’s work means reading Idealog is always a pleasure. He  deserves his plaudits.”

This  year AUT Media has also published the bestselling children’s book Awesome Aotearoa: A Kids' History of New Zealand, written by Margaret Mahy.
Awesome  Aotearoa repeatedly topped Nielsen Bookscan’s weekly bestseller charts for  children and teens.

AUT Media  is the first New Zealand  publisher to publish a Mahy book in over 20 years.
“This is  such an honour for us and something we’re really proud of, especially given we  are only two years old as a press,” says Heeringa.
