Auckland University of Technology (AUT) has jumped 100 places in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings and remains in the top 20 most international universities in the world.
In 2015 AUT was in the 601-800 band but this year places in the 501-600 band. That puts AUT in the top 3% of universities in the world.
AUT is also ranked as the 19th most international university in the world.
The ‘international outlook’ category is based on metrics associated with a university’s international staff, international co-authorship of research and its international students.
AUT’s Vice Chancellor Derek McCormack is thrilled with the new ranking.
“Our biggest improvement was in overall research quality – as indicated by citations per paper – but we improved in all areas. That indicates the pace of ongoing development across the University.”
Earlier this month the QS World University Rankings placed AUT in the top 450 universities in the world.
