With the politicians announced for the AUT Māori Expo 2011 debate there is no doubt it is an event not to be missed.
The political panel debate, just one of many anticipated highlights of the day on Thursday May 12, will see five politicians face-off.
The political panel debate, from 11am to 12pm, will see the politicians discuss Maori youth focused current issues.
There is plenty more to see during the day, which runs from 9am until 3pm, including dancing, fashion shows and musical entertainment along with educational stands.
Aotearoa reggae band 1814 will be headlining the event, performing on the main stage, as will three secondary school kapahaka groups, who will be competing for the Dave Mackey Memorial Trophy.
The event is the largest celebration of Māori achievement in all fields - cultural, political, sports, education and the arts and looks to the past, to the present and to the future; what it means to be Māori in the changing world.
Attendance is free and transport is provided during the day.
Free shuttle buses will be running from the North Shore and City campuses to Vector Arena (and returning) on the day. Buses depart from the AUT shuttle bus stops located at Akoranga Drive (North Shore Campus) and Mayoral Drive (City Campus) and will drop expo-goers off at the arena.
Buses will begin running from 8.30am and will be signed Māori Expo Shuttle.
