Professor Verica Rupar says she is motivated by the fundamental things about journalism: the idea of public good, and the notion of public interest.
We asked Verica five questions ahead of her Inaugural Professorial Address – she discussed her research on journalism as a profession and cultural practice, and her advice for those new to the area.
“The advice that I usually give to my students and colleagues is simple: read, think, observe. Then write.”
This is a free public lecture, and everyone is welcome. Refreshments will be served afterwards.
Date: Thursday 1 July, 4.30 pm – 5.30 pm
Venue: WA Conference Centre, City Campus
