We asked Professor of Physical Activity and the Environment Erica Hinckson five questions about her research at the time of her Inaugural Professorial Address.
She told us about her walkable cities and neighbourhoods research, how she got into the field of sport and recreation, and what motivates her.
“The outcome that I would love to see is that local authorities take on board some of the results of our research and implement it. Living in a city that is walkable is not only important for improving physical activity levels, but also for improvement in mental health and wellbeing,” she said.
