The combination of personal ambition as an athlete and studying human physical performance created Professor Andrew Kilding’s passion for sports science.
We asked Andrew five questions ahead of his Inaugural Professorial Address – he discussed his research on improving sports performance and closing the gap between winning and losing, how he got into his field and what makes him passionate about his job.
“Find your passion and let that lead your direction. When you do that, work doesn’t become work anymore. It becomes a real interest. Think about the why and so what: make sure there’s a clear purpose to why you’re doing your research, and what impacts it’s going to have,” he said.
