Condolence message from the Vice Chancellor
Austin Brashears

We are all truly saddened to hear of the death of Austin Brashears.

Austin died as a result of a tragic car accident on State Highway 46 south of Turangi at about 7.30am on Saturday morning.

Austin, a Boston University student, was studying at AUT as part of an international Study Abroad programme. We join together as employees of AUT to send to Austin’s family and to his friends, our most sincere condolences. We offer our heartfelt sympathy to everyone at Boston University who is affected by this tragedy. We also extend our condolences to the families and friends of Daniela Lekhno and Roch Jauberty who also lost their lives in the accident. Daniela and Roch were on the same international Study Abroad programme and studying at the University of Auckland.

Our thoughts are with the other students involved in the incident and their families.

Vice Chancellor
