AUT staff have helped provide students in low decile schools with the stationery they need to start the 2014 school year.
Staff attending the AUT 2013 end of year staff party at the North Shore Campus in December were asked to bring along exercise books, pencils, pens, colouring pencils, rulers and erasers to donate to KidsCan and the turnout was impressive. The stationery items easily filled two large boxes which AUT Director of Corporate Affairs Aimee Driscoll delivered to the KidsCan office in January.
The staff at KidsCan were looking forward to getting the stationery items out to some of the hundreds of low decile schools they work with and thanked the AUT staff for their generosity and help with making the start of the school year so positive for many children around the country.
KidsCan provides rain coats, shoes, meals and healthcare to 388 decile 1 to 4 schools around New Zealand, working towards achieving their mission to meet the physical and nutritional needs of less fortunate Kiwi kids so they can be more engaged in their education and have a better chance of reaching their full potential.
