AUT responds to Maui gas leak
Gas to AUT's City and North Shore Campus' has been turned off.

AUT University is curtailing gas consumption in accordance with its contractual obligations until further notice. A directive to do so has gone to all commercial gas users, following the gas escape from the Maui pipeline located north of New Plymouth.

Commercial and industrial users have been told by Vector the leak could possibly take three to five days to repair (source www.vector.co.nz).

All gas to AUT City and North Shore campuses has been turned off. This includes space heating, science laboratories, teaching kitchens, gymnasiums and commercial food outlets.
"Gas to our student accommodation is still on, in line with advice to Auckland residential customers," says AUT Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rob Allen.
