AUT hosts Future of Work Conference 2015
AUT University will host workplace experts and practitioners at a day-long Future of Work conference on 9 February 2015.
The inaugural Future of Work conference aims to update interested individuals and organisations, including employers and HR practitioners, on the changing face of working life.
Conference organiser and co-director of AUT’s New Zealand Work Research Institute Professor Tim Bentley says, “Rapid workplace change is being driven by new digital technologies, globalisation, environmental pressures, changing workforce demographics and new forms of social interaction.”
More than 20 speakers ranging from AUT researchers to policy makers will translate their latest workplace research and expert experiences into digestible and useful information for workplace decision makers.
Labour Party MP Grant Robertson will open the conference with an introduction to the Labour Party’s Future of Work Commission
Sessions at the conference will cover topics such as the mental and physical health of workers, precarious employment, teleworking, Maori leadership, diversity and the ageing workforce.
“The changing nature of work has big implications for the New Zealand economy and for employers, educators and workers,” says Professor Bentley.
