AUT filmmakers light up the screen at international film festival
The New Zealand International Film Festival (NZIFF) kicks off in Auckland on July 16 with its biggest programme to date. This year’s festival will feature the work of four AUT lecturers and two students.
Christina Milligan’s co-produced film, The Price of Peace, will have its worldwide premiere at the festival. The movie investigates the impacts of surveillance and the price to our citizens. The documentary is set to the backdrop of the struggles of Tame Iti and the people of Tuhoe. Milligan is a lecturer in Screen Production and Screenwriting at AUT.
A collection of 11 short works that expose contemporary cracks and crevices in the heroic landscape tradition will screen as a collection called Place Unmaking. The collection includes films by AUT lecturers Janine Randerson, Dieneke Jansen, Andrew Denton and postgraduate students Tim Danko and Layne Waerea.
AUT will also sponsor the visit of directors Scott Christopherson and Brad Barber to New Zealand for the screening of their award winning documentary, Peace Officer. Both Christopherson and Barber will appear at AUT for a special event on Monday July 27 at 4.30pm. For more information on this exclusive event, click here.
