AUT appoints Interim Dean of Law
Associate Professor Khylee Quince has been appointed the Interim Dean of the School of Law at Auckland University of Technology (AUT).
Khylee (Ngāpuhi, Ngāti Porou, Te Roroa) has an academic career spanning two decades with a research focus on crime policy, law and legal studies, human rights, and justice issues.
Her teaching expertise includes criminal law and justice, youth justice and Māori legal issues and was recognised in 2014 with a National Tertiary Teaching Excellence Award for Sustained Teaching.
“I have been privileged to oversee academic and pastoral support for Māori and Pasifika law students for most of my 20-year academic career,” she said.
The appointment has been made following an internal process that Business, Economics and Law Faculty Dean Kate Kearins noted had shown the strength and talent of AUT’s Law School. Current Dean, Professor Charles Rickett is retiring after a long and distinguished career.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Associate Professor Quince for the remainder of the year and know she will work hard to serve the Law School and its students and staff,” said Professor Kearins.
