The Auckland University of Technology (AUT) Council has approved the proposal to increase tuition fees for domestic students by 1.1% in 2021.
Most students will pay an additional $68 to $74 for the year and bring the cost of tuition to between $6,310.66 and $6,785.83. See the fee schedule here
AUT’s work to provide an exceptional learning experience continues to rise and the modest increase will help offset this.
The current Fees Free policy means that the first year of study is paid by government for qualifying domestic students.
Compulsory Student Service Fees will increase by $30.40 for a full-time student and total $790.40 for the year.
This will help fund the increase in demand for non-tuition services to support students. The fees fund AUTSA, Debate magazine, student recreation, student health and wellbeing services, employability services, and financial hardship support.
The Building Levy for 2021 will increase by $1.52 to $77.52 for each full-time student.
International student fees for all re-enrolling students continuing in their programme of study will be 1.1%. AUT international student fees for new students will increase by up to 4% in 2021
The total Compulsory Student Service Fees and Building Levy will be discounted by 30% for students studying offshore.
A range of scholarships are available and current students facing financial hardship can contact AUT’s Student Hub, where they can access financial hardship support and services such as budgeting, assistance with finding accommodation, help with study loans, and receiving the student allowance.
