Dr Nadia Charania, senior lecturer in public health and co-director of the Migrant and Refugee Health Research Centre, has been awarded a Leader Fellowship by Te Niwha, the national infectious diseases research platform.
"I'm really excited for the opportunity to apply all this knowledge to better prepare for future infectious disease outbreaks and reduce health inequities among migrant and refugee background populations," Nadia says.
"It means a lot to me that the team at Te Niwha believe in me and are investing in me as an infectious disease research leader." Only six Leader Fellowships were awarded by Te Niwha.
