AUT is a proud sponsor of four events currently taking place, which support the aspirations of our next generation of leaders.
Each of these initiatives celebrates youth leadership, and the individuals involved may be future or current great graduates from AUT, or in the case of the Women of Influence Awards – inspirational AUT alumni.
AUT is a principal sponsor of the Pat Hanly Creativity Awards, which acknowledge Pat Hanly’s outstanding contribution to New Zealand contemporary art and his passion for art education and supporting young artists.
67 Year 13 art students from 35 schools and their whānau and teachers, were honoured at a gala event on Thursday 24 June at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.
Established in 2002, the awards recognise secondary school students who display high levels of creativity in the visual arts.
AUT is once again sponsoring the YWCA Y25 initiative which celebrates the force of our young wāhine toa. Each year the Y25 List brings together 25 of our rising trailblazers. They are doers, makers, shakers, change-makers and community leaders doing incredible things to wake up and change their world.

Shadow a Leader is an initiative of AUT’s Faculty of Business, Economics and Law, where both Auckland secondary school students and AUT students are provided with the opportunity to follow an industry leader for a day.
This experience gives students invaluable insights into how business leaders work in the professional world and opens their eyes up to the skills and attributes required to navigate a successful career in their chosen field.
