AUT Visual Arts Senior Lecturer Fiona Amundsen has been selected as a 2019 Fulbright New Zealand Scholar.
In September, Amundsen will head to the US to research the relationships between documentary photographic and video artworks and the socio-politic realities of military capitalism at California Institute of the Arts.
Amundsen is thankful for the opportunities and support provided by Fulbright New Zealand.
“I am excited to have focused time to work on my research and develop new connections with other artists,” she says.
Fulbright New Zealand Scholar Awards are for New Zealand academics, artists or professionals to lecture and/or conduct research at US institutions. A small number of awards valued at up to US$37,500 are granted each year, towards three to five months of lecturing and/or research. These awards are available for lecturing and/or research in any field, at any US institute.
