Join us on Friday 21 May 2021 as we Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora – Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying!
Celebrated annually around the globe, Pink Shirt Day began in Canada in 2007 when two students took a stand against homophobic bullying after a peer was bullied for wearing a pink shirt.
In Aotearoa, Pink Shirt Day works to create schools, workplaces, communities and whānau where everyone feels safe, valued and respected.
AUT and AUTSA are hosting this year's Pink Shirt Day celebrations. A lunchtime event from 12 – 1 pm will take place at each campus.
Pop down to Hikuwai Plaza at the City Campus, for a free sausage sizzle, candyfloss, our T-shirt design competition, dance performances, bake sale and the annual Pink Shirt Day group photo.
If you would like to volunteer to bake something for the bake sale at the City Campus, please contact megan.skinner@aut.ac.nz
We've been celebrating Pink Shirt Day in Aotearoa since 2009 and AUT is committed to celebrating Pink Shirt Day so why create our own Pink Shirt to show our support!?
