AUT student receives NDF scholarship

In 2018 AUT Post Graduate Digital Communications student Louise Saunders won a scholarship to attend the National Digital Forum (NDF) conference held at Te Papa in Wellington. Louise applied despite being a studying Mum with no employer to support her application.

Louise said the 2018 speakers were of an incredibly high caliber, both nationally and internationally. These included Michael Edson from UN Live, Tara Robertson from Mozilla, and Tuaratini Ra’a from the Pacifica Arts Centre.

“Every speaker and topic that I saw was inspiring. It was two packed days of learning, networking and engaging, and a third day of workshops for the ultra keen. 2019 is going to be a very exciting conference and you should try and go if this is in your wheelhouse. There will be something there for anyone working with digital, heritage and culture,” Louise said.

NDF is described as a network of people and organisations working together to enhance New Zealand’s digital interaction with culture and heritage. They also work closely with museums, archives, art galleries, libraries, government, and the creative sectors to support their initiatives.

Scholarship applications and early bird registrations to attend NDF2019 close in September. Find out more about the scholarships

Since her attendance last year, Louise has taken on the mantel of Auckland Regional Ambassador for NDF and is facilitating a free Auckland Regional Forum in August. Register for the Forum
