Alumna’s internship experience in Taiwan
Leanne Ho, a graduate of the Bachelor of Business in Market Insights: Marketing, Advertising, Retailing, Sales, recently had the opportunity to do an internship in Taiwan.
The opportunity was awarded to her through the Asia NZ Foundation, which runs a business programme that offers graduates and tertiary students business internships in Asia, opportunities for NZ and Asian business people to connect and trade, and grants for business support organisations.
Leanne spent three months in Taiwan, working for Taipei-based Orient Europharma, a multinational pharmaceutical company with over 800 staff worldwide. Her main project as a marketing and sales intern looked at strengthening existing marketing strategy and seeking new branding opportunities for a goat infant formula product imported from New Zealand.
She described the opportunity as a ‘taking a leap of faith’, making her long-term dream of working in Asia come true.
