School of Social Sciences Associate Professor Camille Nakhid was featured in a Stuff article about the recent rise of racism complaints to the Human Rights Commission.
In the piece, she posits that a greater understanding of racism and more acknowledgement of institutional racism was needed in New Zealand.
“Racism is having power to den people opportunities, but people hide behind ignorance, which allows them not to address it.” Associate Professor Nakhid said.
