Mohammed Rusch, who came to AUT from the Technical University of Berlin, talks about how his Study Abroad semester was full of wonderful experiences and new friends.
Honestly, it was just a feeling and I went through with it. Not regretting it at all. I trust my intuition, my instinct a lot. It feels really good to have that faith in it.
All the people I've met (who also became my friends and some even really close ones) and things I've done like hiking and being in the stunning nature of New Zealand, dancing salsa, playing basketball, going out with my friends, having a coffee (IVLO – Iced Vanilla Latte with Oatmilk), taking a walk (walk and talk with Natasha) or run, participate in the events at AUT or my accommodation (shoutouts to all the residential assistants, big love!), learning Spanish with Pietro and Rafael (so much fun!), the study and yoga Fridays with Julia, and so much more…
It was really cool to witness this different style and approaches. It helped a lot to use all the facilities the university had to offer like the library. Maybe you can also find other students to study together. I personally believe the vibe in a library helps a lot to improve my focus on studying.
And talking about problems or simply how you perceive the studying part with other students or friends is very helpful.
Friends from all over the world (can't wait to meet you again!), wonderful experiences, a focus shift of my mindset and new perspectives.
