Events and professional development for AUT staff

LTED offers a range of professional development for staff involved in teaching and supporting learning. Professional development sits in one of four categories that serve the range of needs of different staff groups. There is flexibility to offer modules that algin with specific and evolving AUT strategies and adopt a variety of delivery modes.

Sessions are offered live in-class, live online or as self-paced materials to provide flexible development opportunities for staff.

These modules can be done as stand-alone or together, depending on new staff experience.

Fundamental modules include:

  • AUT Strategies into Teaching Practice – explains how relevant university strategies guide teaching practice and contribute to the student learning experience
  • Teaching a Session – focuses on planning a teaching session, using active learning tasks and identifying classroom management techniques
  • Designing Sessions – provides guidance on designing effective learning experiences that support students to achieve course learning outcomes
  • Assessing and Giving Feedback – examines the role of assessment and feedback for student learning and provides opportunities to apply that for your teaching practice
  • Using Learning Technology at AUT – covers using Canvas, and other learning technologies at AUT
