Teaching, learning and assessment

AUT’s approach to teaching, learning and assessment is guided by the university’s Te Kete strategy. Manaaki is at the heart our educational mission. We want to create a welcoming, supportive and positive learning experience so that students can thrive in their chosen field of study, and teaching staff can facilitate authentic, relevant learning experiences for students.

The strategic direction for AUT’s educational experience is overseen by Professor Wendy Lawson, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic, and Dr Felicity Reid, Pro Vice-Chancellor Learning and Teaching.

Transition into AUT

AUT’s pathway programmes offer another way into AUT and degree-level study, and an important means to provide opportunities for talented students. There is a network of academic and other university support to engage students in the pathway programmes and support them in their transition to university study.

LTED supports course design and transition pedagogy across these programmes. AUT staff can view more details on the pathways page on TUIA.
